New Tool to Support Cervical Cancer Elimination

To commemorate its 60th anniversary, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in collaboration with the University of Sydney, has launched the Cervical Cancer Elimination Planning Tool (EPT).

This publicly available online tool is designed to support countries—especially those with low and middle incomes—in achieving the WHO Global Strategy target to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health issue.

The EPT allows governments and health organizations to:

  • Simulate the long-term impact of prevention and treatment strategies.

  • Develop tailored action plans based on their specific healthcare systems.

  • Monitor progress toward the elimination goal.

The EPT is a groundbreaking step in providing data-driven insights to guide effective decision-making in cervical cancer elimination efforts.
