As part of WP11.6, a training on low-dose CT scans was conducted at the National Korányi Institute for Pulmonology in Budapest, Hungary. Two radiologists from Slovakia participated on this workshop: MUDr. Nehajová Marianna, University Hospital, Martin, Department of Radiology and MUDr. Pálušová Katarína, University Hospital, Martin, Department of Radiology.
Each lecture session was followed by a practical part.
During the 3-day course, a total of 90 low-dose chest CT examinations were performed (9 groups / 10 low-dose CT examinations each).
Each participant had access to their own computer, where an individual search for positive and negative pulmonary findings was conducted using dedicated software. These findings were subsequently reviewed and evaluated collectively by the participants.
The organization and technical support of the course were excellent and of a high professional standard. The lectures were exceptionally well-prepared and content-rich. All lecturers were willing to engage in discussion and answer all participant questions.
Additional Slovak radiologists, who will specialize in lung cancer screening, have expressed interest in the upcoming course to be held in Budapest from 25th to 27th November 2025 at the National Korányi Institute of Pulmonology.
