Three specialists from the INSTITUŢIA MEDICO-SANITARĂ PUBLICĂ INSTITUTUL ONCOLOGIC(IMSPIO)—Buruiană Gheorghe (Surgical Oncologist), Nepotu Marina (Imaging Specialist – Radiologist), and Bairamculov Azamat (Resident Doctor, Medical Imaging Department)—participated in the EUCanScreen European Training Courses on Low-Dose CT (LDCT) Lung Cancer Screening. Their participation strengthens national capacity for early detection and contributes to Moldova’s efforts to combat lung cancer more effectively.
The training provided intensive, practice-oriented instruction in LDCT case evaluation, lung nodule management, incidental findings, and follow-up protocols. Delivered by leading European experts, the course supports Moldova’s alignment with international standards in lung cancer screening.
The knowledge acquired by by the Moldovan team will be integrated into clinical practice at the Instituţia medico-sanitară publică Institutul Oncologic(IMSPIO), contributing to improved diagnostic pathways and enhanced screening readiness at the national level.
