Ireland is delighted to present the EUCanScreen project, in its capacity as the spotlight country during the month of December, 2025.

The goal of EUCanScreen is to coordinate research initiatives on population-based cancer screening programmes in Europe. To that end, the Department of Health (DoH), the Health Service Executive’s National Screening Service (NSS) and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) are collaborating across all Work Packages of this Joint Action alongside the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the World Health Organization.

Throughout the month, Ireland will spotlight equity in cancer screening, showcasing innovative initiatives designed to improve access and participation in screening.

Follow along as we share information on Ireland’s role in EUCanScreen, featuring posts from it’s partner organisations on their contributions to the Joint Action, and provide updates on Ireland’s involvement in other European cancer screening research projects.
