Experts Begin Work on Europe’s First Gastric Cancer Prevention Guidelines

The International Agency for Research on Cancer convened the European Consensus on Gastric Cancer Working Group within the EU GAINS project. Experts from multiple European countries met to begin developing the first European guidelines focused specifically on gastric cancer prevention.

Helicobacter Pylori

Discussions addressed evidence on Helicobacter pylori eradication, dietary risk factors, early detection strategies, and feasibility of population based interventions. The initiative aims to harmonize prevention approaches across Member States, reduce disparities, and support evidence informed cancer control policies.
