We’re thrilled to kick off our in-person consortium event, bringing together partners from across Europe to drive forward our shared mission of improving cancer screening. With a hybrid format allowing online participation, the next two days are packed with collaboration and progress.
📍 Day 1 Highlights (March 11):
After a warm welcome from our hosts Marcis Leja (LU) and Urška Ivanuš (OJ LJUBLJANA), and greetings from the Slovenian Ministry of Health (Mojca Gobec), we’ll dive into:
• 🇸🇮 Good practices: Learning from Slovenia’s high screening coverage and the Dutch experience with lung cancer screening (Harry de Koning, Erasmus MC).
• 🛠️ Key tools: Updates on the EU Barrier Assessment Tool (Silvia Deandrea, ATS Pavia & Kayo Togawa, IARC), the Toolkit & Data Platform (Mari Nygard, NIPH), and the innovative MAS-AI Tool (Iben Fasterholdt, RSYD).
• 📚 Training: Insights on the Learning Platform developed with the WHO Academy (Anouk Berger, Noemi Joncour, IARC).
• And of course, dedicated sessions on our vital capacity building activities (WP11).
📍 Day 2 Preview (March 12):
Tomorrow, we’ll hear progress reports from all our Work Packages (WP2-WP10), covering everything from epidemiology to implementation science. Key sessions include:
• 📊 Status updates on surveys and data collection (Tala Haddad, UNICANCER & Kayo Togawa, IARC).
• 🤝 Strengthening our Stakeholder Network (Marcis Leja, LU).
• 💡 A deep dive into implementing Decision Aids in cancer screening (Montse Garcia, ICO & Cinzia Colombo, IRFMN).
• Planning our future with Sustainability Workshops (Urška Ivanuš, OI Ljubljana).
