The collaboration between these academic institutions, healthcare provider, public health authorities and policymakers is essential for achieving the targets set out in Latvia’s healthcare planning documents, particularly the Oncology Plan, which aims to improve screening coverage and early diagnostics.
Representatives of Riga Stradins University highlighted their active involvement in several core areas of the EUCanScreen project, including the improvement of screening communication strategies and informational materials, the development of informed choice and risk-based screening approaches, and the advancement of cervical cancer screening models. RSU experts are also contributing to the strengthening of colposcopy quality assurance and specialist training at the European level.
This meeting reaffirmed that cross-institutional collaboration is the cornerstone of our success in building sustainable and high-quality cancer screening systems. Together, we are not just implementing a project; we are building a more resilient and responsive healthcare system for the people of Latvia and Europe.
