On 7 July 2025, IARC released data indicating that a 4.5 kg/m² increase in BMI was associated with a 13% higher breast cancer risk among post‑menopausal women without cardiovascular disease (CVD), and a 31% increase among those with CVD. The study emphasizes the amplified risk posed by obesity when combined with cardiometabolic conditions and supports integrated prevention strategies addressing weight management and comorbidity
