Activities of the National Screening Center of the Czech Republic: prevention, screening and education.

On October 30, 2025, the second annual PNEUMOFORUM conference took place, focused on evaluating the pilot phase of the early detection program for lung cancer launched in 2022.

The results to date, the involvement of experts, and further steps to optimize and expand the program within the Czech healthcare system were discussed.

The conference was dedicated to lung cancer screening in the Czech Republic and was divided into 3 parts.

The first part was devoted to a review of the current course of the early detection program for lung cancer, the future of lung cancer screening in Europe and the Czech Republic, the current results of the evaluation strategy of the pilot phase of the program were presented, and the role of the pulmonary surgeon in the treatment of lung cancer was also presented.

The second part was devoted to the next form of the early detection program for sputum cancer and the challenges that lie ahead. The third part was devoted to the journey of a patient with lung cancer.
