The European Commission published presentations and recordings from a webinar dedicated to estimating cancer burden using the European Cancer Information System (ECIS). The session presented methodologies for analysing incidence, mortality and survival trends based on harmonised datasets.
Experts highlighted how integrated digital platforms enable policymakers and researchers to access reliable evidence and identify priority areas for intervention. Discussions addressed challenges related to data interoperability, privacy protection and sustainable support for cancer registries.
By sharing these materials, the Commission aims to encourage broader adoption of data driven approaches in public health planning and to strengthen collaboration among institutions working to monitor cancer trends.
