EUCanScreen Joint Stakeholder Conference – SAVE THE DATE

Eucanscreen Joint Stakeholder Conference To Strengthen Sustainable Cancer Screening Across Europe

On 28–29 October 2026, the Italian Ministry of Health in Rome will host the EUCanScreen Joint Stakeholder Conference, a two-day high-level meeting bringing together European institutions, national authorities, healthcare experts, patient organisations, and project representatives to discuss the future of sustainable cancer screening in Europe. Organised by ProMIS in collaboration with the EUCanScreen WP2 team and project partners, the event will provide a strategic platform for dialogue on the implementation, sustainability, and long-term integration of cancer screening programmes across EU Member States.

Strengthening Cooperation and Political Commitment

The conference aims to strengthen cooperation among European and national stakeholders while promoting the role of organised and evidence-based screening programmes in reducing the cancer burden and addressing inequalities in access to care. A central objective will be to support political commitment and institutional engagement towards sustainable screening policies, highlighting how EUCanScreen contributes to the implementation of the European Cancer Plan and broader EU public health priorities.

Strategic Themes

The discussions will address a broad range of strategic themes related to the future of cancer screening, including implementation models, scalability, sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and health system integration. Particular attention will also be devoted to reducing inequalities in access to screening, strengthening cross-border collaboration, supporting training and capacity building activities, and fostering knowledge transfer among Member States and European stakeholders. The event will further explore the role of digital innovation, artificial intelligence, data harmonisation, interoperability, and integrated screening pathways in improving the quality and effectiveness of screening programmes.

Towards a Shared European Vision for Cancer Screening

Through plenary sessions, workshops, expert contributions, and multi-stakeholder panel discussions involving representatives from the European Commission, Ministries of Health, professional and patient organisations, researchers, and EU-funded initiatives, the event will contribute to shaping a shared European vision for the future of cancer screening. The Joint Stakeholder Conference will represent an important milestone for EUCanScreen, supporting dialogue, collaboration, and policy engagement while increasing the visibility and long-term impact of the project’s activities and results.

The conference will be held in a hybrid format. All updates regarding the event, including registration details, will be posted shortly on the project website.
